LAMDA

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering LAMDA classes for all students aged

4 -18 from July 2017!

LAMDA is the oldest drama school in the UK. The examinations in speech and drama have been offered to the public for over 130 years.

No matter what direction your child may choose to follow in the future, these examinations provide the opportunity to nurture their natural abilities and develop important life skills. The classes will help to enhance their self confidence to engage and contribute fully, both in school and working life in the future.

The classes together with the process of preparing for and succeeding in a LAMDA exam help develop a learner's ability to:

  • Read easily, fluently and with good understanding
  • Expand vocabulary
  • Improve confidence
  • Memorise and recall information
  • Engage in constructive informal conversation
  • Research and create persuasive, formal presentations

Succeeding in LAMDA demonstrates not only that learners have met the rigorous assessment criteria in a particular discipline but also participated in a worthwhile activity that is respected as a global standard.

LAMDA graded examinations are recognised by Ofqual and are acccredited to the Qualificatons and Credit Framework (QCF). The qualificatons are available at four levels on the QCF and each examination subject is available from Entry Level to Grade 8.
